The last 9 months have seen some changes at Bruce Insurance, some sad, and many positive. We had the sudden and upsetting loss of our long term Account Manager Kelly Larsen at the start of the year. Each and every kind word and condolences received by clients and those in the industry alike has been greatly appreciated.

On a positive note we recently welcomed back Denise Cummins to the Bruce Insurance team from maternity leave. It is hard to believe that her son Cody is already 1 year old.

We welcomed a new face, Melissa Page, who joined the Bruce Insurance team as a Broker Assistant in February of this year. Melissa made a seamless transition and has brought such a quiet efficiency that is well appreciated.

In August 2018 we welcomed an Account Manager to the business, Julie Possingham, who is also working with the Bruce team. Julie brings with her such a wealth of experience and knowledge having previous held Business Development and State Manager roles with different Insurers and other broking Account Manager positions.

Julie has spent a lot of her 30+ years of insurance experience in the commercial insurance sector in both underwriting and broking roles. Julie brings to the team excellent product knowledge and technical skills and a desire to use her skills to ultimately assist her clients in the best way possible.

The recent Google review below really highlights the efforts of all the staff at Bruce Insurance, and specifically in this case Julie and Chloe. The efforts by our staff are part of the culture of the business and so are really striven for day in and day out, but these efforts and the results are really noticed during difficult periods.

I have been dealing with Bruce Insurance since I purchased my business some 3 years ago. The previous owner used Bruce and Kelly Larsen in particular for many years. Knowing the level of due diligence the previous owner would have put them through I just decided to go with Bruce to simplify at least one process with buying my new business.

I was saddened to hear of Kelly’s recent passing and ended up with Julie Possingham and Chloe Watts having to step in to complete my annual insurance review. This is a critical time for me and my business as I’m unable to complete work should my various policies lapse.

Julie was quick to arrange a visit to my office and get a feel for my niche “elevator removal business”. This enabled her to go about her activities in sourcing the best products, pricing and insurance providers. This has now been completed all through to the final steps of arranging a better/cheaper Premium Funder.

As an aside to this story, I have had cause to make two Workers Comp claims during the course of this year and QBE have been awesome to deal with. It did come as quite a surprise as I’d heard many WC case stories….none overly good. Thanks for pushing QBE as my Workers Comp Insurance provider.

MANY thanks to both Julie and Chloe for their huge efforts here at what must have been an awful time in the Bruce Insurance office.
