Kelly Larsen

Kelly-Larsen

On Thursday the 10th January of this year, Kelly Larsen sadly and unexpectedly passed away. Kelly was a stalwart of Bruce Insurance having being an account manager with us for the past 15 years. He leaves a big hole in our company, his passion and drive being such a significant part in building Bruce Insurance to where it is today.

Kelly passed away in his sleep due to heart failure at the age of 46. Tragically he was due to have a heart procedure the following day which would have improved the quality of his life and undoubtedly prevented his premature death. Kelly had delayed this procedure solely due to his care of others rather than himself.  Whilst this was his nature, it serves as a very strong message for all of us not neglect our health, as without it we have nothing.

Kelly was highly respected in the insurance industry where he had worked for over 25 years in various roles. He started out as a marine underwriter and then later as a specialist marine insurance broker before joining us at Bruce Insurance.  At Bruce Insurance he was heavily involved in the creation of Trades Insurance, which has built a highly successful niche providing insurance to tradesman around Australia.  In later years he was a senior account manager looking after our business clients.

The things Kelly will be most remembered for are his strong values, he was helpful and caring and always putting others before himself, the ultimate team player. We are lucky to have had Kelly in our lives and work in our business, he had such a big impact on all of our staff and many of our clients.

Kelly will be impossible to replace, but the business and our lives are richer for having had Kelly in them. Kelly Larsen will not be forgotten.
