From the Claims Manager
Hi my name is Sharon Davidge, I am the Claims Manager at Bruce Insurance. I have been at Bruce Insurance for 5 years now and have been the Claims Manager since September 2019. I have over 20 years claims experience – managing a claims department for a large Insurance Company, working at a well-known Logistics Company in their Risk / Insurance Department as well as many years underwriting and brokerage experience (now I am showing my age).
Since taking on the Claims Manager role at Bruce Insurance, our claims team and I have been looking at ways to reduce time frames in claims. We are excited to announce we now have claim forms that can be completed and submitted to us through our website. Once the claim form is submitted, it takes less than 1 minute to be received and can then be lodged in the Insurer’s system and a claim number be provided to you within a couple of hours during business hours.
So far there are 4 claim forms – Motor Vehicle, Windscreen, Machinery/Electronic Breakdown and a General claim form. There will be more online claim forms in the near future.
Is everyone aware that a windscreen claim is not just for your windscreen? It covers all glass – i.e. front windscreen, rear windscreen, side window, sunroof and panoramic/moon roof. So if you have broken glass that is not a front windscreen – call our office and our claims team will assist you with your claim.
Our Claims Team strive to be able to get your claims settled as quickly as possible. So you can also assist us to do this, if you are able to obtain the documentation for your claim prior to lodging it through our websites, this will reduce delays. Once you have lodged your claim through our website there is an email address for you to email the documentation through to. We can then ensure your Insurance Company has all the documentation to review and confirm acceptance of your claim and settlement offer.
It is important to be aware that all Insurance Policies do have exclusions like “wear & tear”. This does need to be taken into account when you are looking to lodge an Insurance Claim. If you are unsure of this or whether this exclusion may apply to your claim, please call our Claims Team and they will be able to assist you.
